What the targets mean

The minimum list is tied to 1080p at 30 fps on Low settings. Meeting it does not promise 60 fps or High quality. The recommended list targets 1440p at 60 fps on High, and its 32 GB memory requirement is part of that target rather than a general Windows recommendation.

An SSD is the practical choice even though the table states only 50 GB of available storage. Keep extra space for patches, shader data, screenshots, and temporary installation files.

Check a Windows PC before buying

Press Windows key + R, enter dxdiag, and compare the System and Display tabs against the CPU, RAM, operating system, DirectX version, and GPU rows above. In File Explorer, open This PC to confirm free storage. EA recommends enabling Resizable BAR for Intel Arc graphics because it can improve frame-rate performance.

Laptop GPU names need extra care. A mobile chip with the same family name as a desktop card can have a different power limit and performance level. Check the exact model and wattage rather than matching only the number.

If the game runs below target

Update the graphics driver, close memory-heavy background programs, and test a lower resolution or preset before changing several options at once. Upscaling can reduce GPU load, but CPU-bound scenes may not improve by the same amount. Record the game build and driver version when comparing results.

The performance guide collects launch observations and troubleshooting. The Steam Deck page covers Valve's handheld separately because it sits below the official minimum target.
